Life's too interesting to pick a niche

Easter has me thinking about light/The Light (AKA Jesus Christ). I wrote a piano piece designed to improvise around a short theme and called it Meditation on Light.
Then I thought about communion and how free and light I feel during the ceremony in my current church compared to my previous experiences. Then I wrote a reflection (or poem or whatever term you want to use) to coordinate with the music (sheet music available… when I have the time to format and post it).
Light sparkles.
Whether or not we see it changes nothing. Light glints Whether we squint or shout for joy at the sight. Light settles Into the tiniest crack and smallest pinprick. Light soothes The darkest room, even a sliver a defense from blindness. Light grows Life hidden, covered, forgotten, but waiting for its touch. Light gathers From caves and houses and solitude, the living responding to its call. Light burns Those uninformed, unprotected, or too proud to respect its power. Light wins Over darkness, hiddenness, obstruction, everything its opposite. Light is And was and will be and doesn’t rely on us. Light responds When we make space and ease its path. Light stays When we close it out, live like it isn’t there, block it from our senses. Light is light. What we think or say or do can’t change that.
Also in Spanish.
