Life's too interesting to pick a niche

Keith came back on Friday. Now he’s doing dining room and I’m doing housekeeping. I miss the interaction, but am glad for less stress. I was sick for the week before - fever and cold. I took one day off, then worked at least a few hours the other days. I was so tired, I wondered if I would ever be well and happy again. I’m off today. Isaiah and I walked down to see the eld feeders and their giant horse, but they weren’t there. We saw two bald eagles and walked within 30 yards of one. That was worth the 4-mile walk. His beak was huge. We also saw a cow elk head, but the ivory was gone. There was a coyote carcass, too. All the fur was missing except on the one remaining paw. *I didn’t have many photos from December-February, so the title “photo” is an AI-generated image from Canva.

Last night, the whole town division came out between 9:00-12:00 and got drunk. Isaiah and I stayed in our rooms and didn’t see them until this morning. Filip had them bring sleeping bags so that everyone could have the day off. True, it was nice that we didn’t have to clean all those cabins, but the ranch staff weren’t off. We couldn’t go on the company ride. We had to keep the restaurant open. We cleaned up after everyone’s partying and they ate the Chinese food that we paid for as a special treat to us. We want our money back. A few of them were really nice, thanking us for our hospitality and offering to help us clean up. Other than at breakfast, Isaiah and I didn’t socialize. We stayed in our rooms when we weren’t working. *I didn’t have many photos from December-February, so the title “photo” is an AI-generated image from Canva. Saturday, January 6, 2007
I was in bed by 8:30 on New Year’s eve. That weekend, we had guests. We also had some lost people from Minnesota spend one night. The next day, the dad and one girl sledded out to get their stuff from where they stayed the night before. They were supposed to come back and pick up the other two. It got so late and we hadn’t heard from them, that Isaiah called the sheriff’s department and Search and Rescue was notified. By 9:30 p.m. the missing guests showed up, paid their bill, and headed out for the two-hour drive into town. The dad was not too smart. We were annoyed. A few days ago, we were done before 4:00 p.m. - a rare occurrence. Isaiah and I went for a ride on the Bearcat. It was beautiful, just before sunset, clear, and with a full moon. Moose were everywhere. We even had a two-year-old moose block the road for some time. We thought it was going to lie down, but finally it moved off with its mother. The whole town office is coming out tonight and staying tomorrow. Supposedly, we are supposed to all have fun and nobody work. We’ll see how that goes. *I didn’t have many photos from December-February, so the title “photo” is an AI-generated image from Canva. |
