Life's too interesting to pick a niche

Last night, a dog whined and barked all night. At 6:00 this morning, she was scratching and whining at my door. I peeked out and saw a basset hound. The door opening really set her off. I found out at breakfast that her name is Sophy and she belongs to the ranch above us. Her front right paw is at an angle and all her nails are at least almost 2 inches long. I wish I had had a tape recorder last night. One of her barks is the perfect example of what staccato quarter notes should sound like.
